Job Scope:

Develops, recommends and manages strategies for marketing, member communications and relevant internal communications for the Credit Union.  Supports organizational and other department goals, projects and initiatives through external and internal communications activities.  Fosters a productive, rewarding work environment that provides for the development of the Marketing staff, meets established goals, and operates within the Credit Union's core values.  

Job Duties:

  • Hire, develop and lead the Marketing staff to ensure delivery of promotions and communications to external and internal members in a timely and accurate manner, while maintaining the Credit Union's high standard of quality.
  • Ensure employees have the proper tools and resources to successfully perform the requirements of their job.
  • Encourage cooperation and collaboration within the department and with external partners to maximize results.
  • Plan and prioritize general and targeted promotions and campaigns to support Credit Union goals.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of results compared to goals in order to make changes as needed to improve results.
  • Provide marketing materials, campaigns and/or promotional items to Business Services and Branch Operations to support Select Employer Group (SEG) development efforts.
  • Gather data on competitive offers to support sales efforts and product development.
  • Ensure clear, accurate, timely and compelling communication to members and employees using the appropriate delivery channels.
  • Develop media relations and supporting activities to build trust in the Credit Union.
  • Identify opportunities in emerging communication technology, make recommendations and implement new channels as needed and approved.
  • Ensure that promotions and campaigns are executed using a systematic approach and timely and effective deployment for best results.
  • Ensure that the design, scheduling and implementation of educational events and activities support goals and promote member loyalty.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations to help the department run efficiently and achieve the best possible results.
  • Conduct relevant research and analyze data to ensure the development of comprehensive annual marketing and budget plans in support of the Credit Union's focus and business priorities.
  • Promote the service and sales culture by maintaining thorough knowledge of products and services and referring members to the appropriate person/department.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum five years' experience in marketing/advertising or related area, with prior experience in developing and executing marketing/promotional plans.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Exceptional understanding of marketing principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in print design and production, electronic media and professional writing.
  • Expert proficiency in executing marketing and promotional activities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (specifically MS Excel and Word); demonstrates ability to learn and effectively utilize in house programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, features, and benefits.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, advertising/public relations or related degree or equivalent experience.

Other Skills:

  • Possesses strong project management skills; able to organize, facilitate and work with multiple projects and personalities effectively.
  • Exhibits exceptional problem-solving skills; identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers/analyzes information skillfully.
  • Able to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills; able to handle/prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and meet deadlines on an ongoing basis.
  • Understands and applies team and department "best practices" and continually works for process and service improvements.
